Restaurants in Spain

Restaurants line the streets of Southern Spain and whatever you want to eat you'll find it here. Spanish people are renowned for their love of socialising and what better way is there than to enjoy a meal with friends in a good restaurant.

Tapas bars are found throughout Spain and are perfect for a quick snack or a substantial meal as there is no limit to the amount of dishes you can try! Ventas are rural restaurants in Andalucia that provide good food at unbelievably reasonable prices. Churinguitos are perfect for seafood and lunch on the beach and traditional Spanish restaurants produce standard fare with menus that barely differ from place to place. You'll usually find hearty salads, generous cuts of meat, soggy chips and overcooked vegetables. There are some fine Spanish restaurants but if it's crisp chips and crunchy vegetables you're after you may want to look elsewhere!

Restaurants serving food from all over the world are numerous and range from the very reasonable to the very expensive. Some have excellent food and some do not. Some have fine dining rooms and terraces while some will seat you virtually on the N340.

Only experience will lead you to your favourite restaurants and we all know of at least one place we would never go back to. Reviews and price guides can be found in local publications. Remember to book a table in advance if a restaurant is highly recommended. It is usual to tip in restaurants in Spain; how much is up to you.
